HAECO, a leading service provider in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the School of Mechanical Engineering at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), one of Vietnam’s leading technical universities, to strengthen collaboration in aviation education, training and talent development.
The partnership brings together HAECO’s over seven decades of expertise as a global leader in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services and HUST’s strong academic foundation in engineering education, applied research and industry engagement.
The collaboration also aligns with HAECO’s long-term commitment to supporting Vietnam’s aviation development through local talent training and employment as the company expands its presence in Southeast Asia, one of the fastest-growing aviation markets in the world.
“We have built our reputation on safety, quality and capability across the markets we serve,” said Tom Owen, Group Director of Corporate Development at HAECO. “It is our pleasure to collaborate with one of the most prestigious schools in Vietnam to provide a platform that equips next-generation talents who will propel the industry forward and support the industry’s long-term growth in the region.”
Assoc. Prof. Truong Hoanh Son, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering, commented, “HUST strives to prepare our students to meet evolving industry needs. With HAECO’s reputation in the aviation and aircraft maintenance industries and its commitment to nurturing future talents, we look forward to building a long-term collaboration with HAECO in furthering student training, scholarships and career development.”
Keeping the skies safe since 1950, HAECO has been a pioneer in aviation engineering and is dedicated to developing a recognised global workforce and a strong, sustainable talent pipeline. HUST, established in 1956 and marking its 70th anniversary this year, is one of Vietnam’s largest and leading technical universities. Its School of Mechanical Engineering has a strong reputation in engineering, technology, applied research, as well as industry-linked training and engagement, and offers programmes including aerospace engineering that are backed by nearly 300 lecturers and staff.
The partnership is a testament to HAECO’s commitment in fostering collaboration in aviation education and identifying opportunities for cooperative aviation training programmes in Vietnam.
