Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Student Research Conference at the School of Mechanical Engineering
Attending the opening ceremony were Prof. Pham Van Sang – Vice Rector of the School of Mechanical Engineering, along with academic supervisors, members of the specialized committees, and a large number of students participating in this year’s scientific research presentations. Although concise, the opening ceremony was conducted in a formal manner to encourage and motivate student teams before entering the official presentation sessions of the divisions.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the four specialized committees managed by the School of Mechanical Engineering officially began their work. The conference continued throughout May 16, 2026, featuring a variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary divisions, including:
Mechanical Engineering Section
Mechatronics Engineering Section
Automotive and Power Engineering Section
Thermal Energy Engineering Section
In addition, interdisciplinary divisions also attracted numerous projects with strong practical applications and interdisciplinary connections, such as:
Transportation and Smart Urban Systems
Sustainable Energy and Environment
Health Science and Technology

Alongside the oral presentation sessions, the scientific research poster exhibition area located in the first-floor lobby of Building C7 was also vibrant, showcasing many innovative student products, models, and creative ideas.
According to the Organizing Committee, in 2026 the School of Mechanical Engineering had a total of 107 projects participating in the Student Scientific Research Conference.
At the specialized committees, student teams confidently presented their research results, models, technical solutions, and practical application orientations before the evaluation panels. Faculty members carefully listened, discussed, raised critical questions, and conducted objective evaluations to select the most outstanding projects for First, Second, and Third Prize awards in each division. In addition, this year’s conference also featured categories such as Best Poster Award, Most Impressive Product Award, and Creative Idea Award.
The Student Scientific Research Conference is an important annual academic activity that contributes to promoting scientific research among students, while creating an environment for them to develop creativity, research capability, teamwork, and academic presentation skills. At the same time, the conference serves as an opportunity to connect education with research and practical applications, thereby reaffirming the role of the School of Mechanical Engineering – Hanoi University of Science and Technology in training high-quality engineering human resources with innovation capacity and international integration competencies.
