Current status of training and research activities in the field of Welding at the School of Mechanical Engineering
The training of welding engineers is currently undertaken by the Welding Specialized Group (NCM). Annually, the welding laboratory serves 14 modules with about 1150 students. The increasing number of students leads to overloading in terms of equipment and usage time. The current infrastructure is difficult to meet the requirements of in-depth research. The laboratory is distributed in 3 locations: Room 103 Building T (74 m2), Room 201 Building T (79 m2), and Room 202 at No. 3 Alley 15 Ta Quang Buu (100 m2).
2. Current status of facilities in the field of Welding
The currently available equipment mainly meets the needs of training and experiments for students at the engineer level, without specialized equipment for in-depth research to publish scientific papers. Most published research recently depends on cooperation with the JWRI Institute. Therefore, attracting investment and equipment sponsorship is extremely urgent to improve the capacity of the Welding NCM and the School of Mechanical Engineering.
3. List of equipment invested through the sponsorship project of the Japanese Government
The sponsorship from the Japanese Government will provide completely new, unused equipment with no copyright disputes. This equipment directly meets the research and development needs of the welding field. The transfer process ensures strict compliance with the Technology Transfer Law and the Intellectual Property Law of Vietnam and international. These equipments will be specially arranged according to each laboratory.
