The Research Center for Propulsion Systems and Autonomous Vehicles was renamed from the Research Center for Engines, Fuels and Emissions according to Decision No. 2598/QD-ĐHBK-TCCB dated November 18, 2021 of the University Rector. Hanoi Polytechnic University. Previously, the Research Center for Engines, Fuels and Emissions, formerly known as the Internal Combustion Engine Laboratory, was built on the basis of a Sub-project under the Project “Development and Upgrade of the Combustion Engine Laboratory” in and technology transfer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Technology under the University of Danang and Polytechnic University under Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City” and officially came into operation in March of this year. 2004.
Up to now, the Center has participated, coordinated and chaired many scientific research projects and projects at home and abroad in the field of dynamic mechanics and related fields. Center staff has chaired 04 projects at the state level, 2 projects at the city level, 5 projects at the Ministry of Education level, 1 international cooperation project under the AUN/SEED-Net project, many projects at the university level. , participated in the implementation of many scientific research topics and projects at all levels. The results of studies using laboratory equipment at the Center have been published in about 200 articles, of which about 80 articles have been published in international scientific journals (most of which are in the ISI/Scopus catalog) and International Scientific Conferences. The Center cooperates with units of BK-Holdings to carry out cooperation and technical consultancy activities with research institutions and universities (Institute of Industrial Chemistry, Vietnam Institute of Petroleum, University of Engineering and Technology. Nanyang Technology-NTU Singapore, Japan Automotive Research Institute-JARI…), enterprises (Piaggio Vietnam, MAZ Automobile Company, VMEP, Vintech (VinGroup)…).
In post-graduate training activities, the Center has carried out experiments to serve the thesis content of 30 PhD students in Mechanical Engineering Engineering under the guidance of teachers and teachers of the Institute of Dynamic Mechanics, ensuring the progress on time. time and quality. About 150 Master’s students participate in research or use research results at the Center for Master thesis content. In addition, the Center also supports many graduate and postgraduate students from other universities such as Danang University of Science and Technology, Academy of Economics and Management, University of Transport and Communications, Hanoi University of Agriculture, Vietnam Maritime University, etc. to do research and experiment on restoration. topic, thesis service.
For university training, every year about 400 students of Automotive Engineering majors participate in experiments, practices, internships and graduation projects at the Center. Many scientific research projects performed by students at the Center won high prizes at the Institute and University levels. In addition, research activities and testing equipment at the Center also help many high school students better understand Automotive Engineering, Dynamic Mechanical Engineering during field trips, special occasions. Open Day… before the college entrance exam.
After nearly 20 years of operation, the Center has become a strong and prestigious research unit in the field of research and development of driving forces, fuels and emission reductions for vehicles. At the same time, the Center has been linking laboratories and research groups to promote research and technology development in the field of new energy, autonomous vehicles to meet the requirements of energy use. efficient, environmentally friendly quality and smart vehicles in the industrial age 4.0.
