  • Training of bachelors of the mechanical engineering specialized in processing of plastics and composites.

Facts and figures

  • In 2012, the department was founded from the reunion of the department of Mechanics of Materials, and the department of Strength of Materials.
  • In 2008, first students of processing of plastics and composites were graduated.
  • In 1995, first students of Mechanics-Informatics were graduated. The field of Mechanics-Informatics was later replaced by Mechatronics in the school of mechanical engineering.
  • In 1970, the department of Applied Mechanics was founded, renamed by the department of Mechanics of Materials in 1995, to teach the course “Applied Mechanics” (a reduced course including statics, kinematics, kinetics, theory of machines and mechanisms, elements of machines, strength of materials) and the course “Non-metallic materials” (later renamed by the course “Plastic and composite materials”).
  • In 1957, the department of Strength of Materials was founded to teach 2 courses “Strength of materials” and “Structural mechanics”.
