Title: The future of virtual reality
Abstract:
Virtual reality allows for unparalleled immersion into mediated environments, but what else can it do and where is it going? I discuss virtual reality in the context of the history of media technology and human mind. I discuss how we are remapping senses to provide new kinds of interaction and experience, from navigating vast scales and data, to creating super-presence with sound responsive environments, and finish with some speculation about the future.
